
In Your Vehicle
Access to vehicle decks is not permitted during the crossing. Crew members monitor the area and we will alert you via an announcement if your pet appears uncomfortable.

In a Kennel
Your dog stays in a kennel on the vehicle deck (pre-booking required, subject to availability).

Remain with You
- Your dog remains with you on-leash on the outdoor side areas on Deck 7. Reservation Required.

At the Terminal/Before Your Voyage
- Bring adequate food and water for the voyage.
- Need a kennel onboard? Advise our agent during check-in.
- Please ensure your pet has had a visit to the relief area. Designated outdoor pet relief areas are available at both Saint John and Digby terminals – look for the signs.
- Waste bags are provided – please pick-up after your furry companion!
Onboard Heath & Safety
- Ensure they have water and ventilation – open vehicle windows and ensure the pet tag has been hung on your rearview mirror with your name and phone number.
- Pets are only permitted on the side areas of Deck 7. Please follow the pet signage and paw prints to the designated areas.
- Pets are not permitted in The Crow's Nest on Deck 7. Signage indicates the areas where pets are allowed. Please stay within these side areas.
- Pets with mobility issues can use the crew elevator to access Deck 7. Ask a crew member for elevator assistance if needed.
- Safety regulations require all passengers to proceed to the passenger decks for the duration of the voyage. Crew members will monitor the vehicle deck and will initiate an announcement in the event a pet appears uncomfortable. BFL cannot guarantee that crew members will be able to observe or identify any or all circumstances where a pet is uncomfortable or in distress.
- Furry friends are prohibited in food service areas and interior passenger areas.
