Nova Scotia-Maine Ferry Service - 2024 Season August Update

As of August 6, 2024, Bay Ferries Limited (BFL) has booked 40,647 passengers for travel during the 2024 operating season (last report was 31,950 as of July 8). This represents an increase of 6671 booked passengers (+19.5%) over the exact same period in 2023. To date this season, we have transported 25,857 passengers and 10,256 vehicles, completed 67 round-trips with 5 round-trips cancelled – 1 due to a technical issue (ship’s radar) and 4 weather related.

Mark Wilson, President and Chief Executive Officer for BFL stated: “We are very pleased with the continued growth of the service and are looking forward to a very busy month of August ahead. Even though it is the beginning of August, and a considerable portion of the season still remains, we have already surpassed last season’s total number of 38,399 passengers. With ten weeks remaining in the 2024 season, we anticipate continued strong numbers ahead.”

Daily service began June 20 and will continue until September 16. As of September 17, The CAT operates five days per week until the final sailing of the season on October 15.
