Summer Round-Up

As summer 2024 comes to a close, we’re taking a moment to reflect on the incredible memories shared by our community. From stunning seascapes to heartwarming moments, you’ve captured the essence of summer aboard Bay Ferries, Northumberland Ferries and The CAT. Here are some of our favourite highlights from you that made this season so memorable!

Instagram user @dashboardliving perfectly captured a journey aboard MV Fundy Rose, showing the ease and wonder of ferry travel from Digby to Saint John. From the early morning crossing through the Bay of Fundy to the vibrant colours of coastal life, this photo series showcases the magic of sailing across the Bay of Fundy.

The hashtag #TwoNationVacation was buzzing this summer as travellers shared their cross-border adventures between Yarmouth, Nova Scotia and Bar Harbor, Maine. We loved to see @megancroft’s adventures in Bar Harbor, showcasing her escapades in this coastal gem of a town. From ice cream on a sunny day to exploring local shops filled with coastal treasures, her trip was the epitome of a summer getaway in beautiful Maine thanks to The CAT!

An East Coast summer is not the same without the help of MV Fundy Rose, offering a smooth and picturesque crossing across the Bay of Fundy. Along the shoreline, our friend @greeneyeballs_ stumbled upon this charmingly classic fish shack, embodying the region's coastal heritage. The journey isn’t always necessarily about the destination; sometimes, it’s all about discovering these hidden gems along the way and soaking up the views.

Travelling with your furry friend has never been easier, especially on MV Confederation, where pets are welcome to enjoy the journey alongside you on deck or relax in the new pet lounge. @stella.bella.golden enjoyed her ferry journey to the fullest, tail wagging and ears flapping in the salty breeze. MV Confederation’s pet lounge received a glowing 5/5 bones rating from our canine travellers for a truly paw-some experience.

Don’t leave your pet behind on your next vacation. Bring them along for the ride! Whether you’re sailing on Bay Ferries, Northumberland Ferries or The CAT pets are always welcome on board!

As the sun dips below the horizon, the sky transforms into a vibrant canvas of oranges, yellows and blues, casting a warm glow over the historic lighthouse. The silhouette of Cape Forchu stands proudly against the colourful sky, making this moment a perfect representation of coastal charm.

Lobster rolls and rolling waves make a flawless pairing for an unforgettable PEI getaway. We loved seeing @cocoa671 enjoying the freshest lobster rolls, featuring sweet, tender lobster nestled in a buttery roll, all while taking the picturesque coastal views in beautiful Prince Edward Island! 

Summer sunsets on the Bay of Fundy rarely disappoint, and this one captured by @ashleydgeorge is particularly dazzling. The fiery orange and pink hues brought our feed to life with summer’s vibrant colours. It’s moments like these that make our ferry routes and destinations a photographer’s dream!

Are you craving a dose of coastal whimsy? This picture by @emisimpressions features Yarmouth’s famous buoys wall, where retired buoys are proudly displayed in a rainbow of reds, blues, yellows and greens next to a charming red shack. It’s a perfect reminder of the quaintness that can be found in unexpected places throughout the Maritimes, and that even the smallest details can make the biggest splash during your trips! 

As we wrap up the summer, we want to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who shared their adventures with us. Your photos, stories and memories remind us of the joy that ferry travel brings to so many. We’re already looking forward to next summer and all the new adventures that await on the ocean!
